A combination of “tear down” renovation and new construction transformed a mid-century bayside bungalow home with a detached stable into an expansive estate with a main house, a guest house and a garage. The entry court, which gives access to all the structures, has a lush knot garden as its focus. The living spaces of the main house focus on expansive views of the Great South Bay. Built for entertaining, the sequence of library, living room, dining room, kitchen and family room form an open vista across the ground floor. A swimming pool and its related structures are hidden from the house, yet open to the bay beaches.
