SANTA FE RANCH

Santa Fe, NM

Set on a long, narrow corner lot in the Santa Fe Historic District, the design of this house was driven by the desire to capture the hillside views while at the same time creating a focus on an inner courtyard to shelter the house from the adjacent roads. The long porch doubles as a three-season living room, while the interior enfilade connects the family room and kitchen to the dining and living rooms. A large corner window in the living room perfectly captures the view of the distant hills. The plan is strikingly modern, while the house itself draws on the Pueblo style to fit into its neighborhood.
